History of Russia

Early History:

  • 862: The legendary Viking leader, Rurik, founded the Rurik Dynasty, marking the beginning of the Kievan Rus, a loose federation of Slavic tribes.

Mongol Rule and the Rise of Moscow:

  • 13th-15th Centuries: The Mongols invaded and occupied the Kievan Rus, establishing the Golden Horde's control over the region.
